I Batik di Jezima

The Batik shop Jezima Mohamed was set up almost 50 years ago near Matara , the commercial capital of Sri Lanka : an all-female firm where currently seven helpers work, involved in following the precious fabrics in the various processing methods under the careful supervision of the septuagenarian designer .

Popular all over the world , besides receiving many calls from every corner to exhibit their valuable works , it can boast that even the Queen of England owns some of their creations shown off during the silver and golden jubilee at Buckingham Palace .

In this world of precious fabrics and bright colors even little Nura , the nine-year-old granddaughter of Jezima , has tried her hand at the art of Batik, learning its secrets .
